Wednesday, September 7, 2011...what a great day. This was the day when the North City Community Garden (NCCG) in Lynden, WA would receive a lot of help and service.
We had a combined force of freshman highschoolers from Lynden Christian & three ramblin', on-the-road-again guys from Michigan who are traveling the US in their rehabbed school bus - Lost Bus. It was a very creative, serendipitous sort of day to have all these converging forces coincide - intersect.
It was a day of service...and service work we got. I had the pleasure to help NCCG organize and plan this day.
We accomplished the painting of old "Oscar's" shed (today's garden tool shed); weed whack a large overgrown area in and around the garden plots; and planted 18 heirloom rose bushes along the front of the garden by our split rail fencing. Sweet!
Thank you LC freshman (and teachers); and thank you Lost Bus guys for this wonderful day that accomplished so much!
